The paper is just over 2 hours and I would say to use all of your time.
The maths is quite tricky and needs a lot of work.

The combined gcse test has the most work to do from what I can gather although there isn’t supposed to be more in this than the single Biology, because there are 3 different sciences it is harder to learn as less of the content links in with each other.
Brilliant service with all the help I needed to pass my maths. I was a bit annoyed that I had to do this in the first place as I have a degree and I did get my GCSE but lost my certificate and the exam board didn’t have a copy as it was a few years ago. Anyway once I accepted I had to do it, I knuckled down and passed within a few weeks
excellent support with the booking through to the test. Much better experience that the other website I tried to use initially, far better here

All round it was a good experience or at least as good as it could be considering I was doing an exam

This test was quite tricky to prepare for but I did the work and now on my uni course which is the only thing that matters. This website was helpful and the team I spoke to on email and chat were great.
I had to take GCSE Maths Foundation for university.
I got the home-based exam, I also got the course which was really helpful. When I had questions or doubts, my emails were answered quickly!

Managed to pass in the end after a lot of revision. Never got on with maths and struggled all the way through school but his time I was determined to do it and did 🙂
I called, emailed and even got them on live chat on a Saturday. I am sure they must have been a little irritated by all my questions but never showed and was always happy to help

The team was very supportive in clarifying my queries, and helped me book a test. Though the package arrived late, due to the royal mail strikes, the online recorded course helped me in understanding the pattern of the exam, and the mode of preparation. The mock tests were a good practise, and the prompt response of the team to evaluate 2 of my mock answer papers in providing critical feedback helped me in identifying the gaps, and working towards a better performance. I passed the exam with a B; of course, i expected a better grade. However, i reached the target.Thank you A Star !!

Needed this to teach in secondary schools after my PGCE. Got on the course now and started my traing, so pleased
Had to pass this to get onto my primary teaching course. It took me 2 trys but I didn’t give up. I was happy for hte help A Star gave me and the feedback after my first test was very useful.
Straight forward process
Very pleased with this website and the resources provided to help me get ready for this English GCSE exam
Had to do this to get into University to complete a PGCE and become a qualified teacher. You have to jump through a lot of hoops on the way to getting on the PGCE but it is definitely worth the effort. If you are struggling revising through this heap of content ready for the exam, just remember the end goal and good luck!!!
I highly rate A Star Equivalency. The customer service has been fantastic, they have shown be support, patience and encouragement at every step. The examination process was well managed and I am grateful for how generous the company have been to me at certain points. I have just passed my Maths examination. Thank you A Star Equivalency.
The science test was a lot of work but worth the effort.
not passed and had to do a resit
Really happy overall with the A Star service and appreciate all the help given, just one minor minus is the time for marking your mocks. I waited nearly 2 weeks for the results of the first mock and didn’t have time to submit the second. I had to email the office a couple of times but the weekly videos and the papers provided where very useful and I got B so cannot complain much.

Although my course package arrived too late due to the post strike, the online lectures helped me to pass the exam within 2 weeks.

Very good exam material was provided. Especially online lessons for Science by Sam were great.
maths equivalency test is relatively easy. Cover the spec and do a few papers and sit the exam. I didn’t get the top grade but who cares, all you need is a pass
I am now on with my teacher training and didn’t think it would be possible to do this in such a short space of time. I looked at the GCSE centre based exams and would have had to wait until summer then August for the result and if it didn’t work out then no way of getting on the course. Also this equivalency test has no practical element so no travelling to test centres to do practicals and exams thankfully. Straight forward to take the exam at home with an invigilator online. It is all official like just easier set up and a lot less stress.

I found this too hard and need to do better with my study
Like all the others taking this test, I struggle with maths and always have! The thought of having to revise for this test made me feel a little ill tbh but I got stuck in and after a few weeks things actually started to click. Thankfully passed first time!
