I had to pass my English equivalency test to get into teaching and it took me two attempts but I managed it. This website and service was good but I feel relieved to have now finioshed it and I can move on
The A star team were very supportive and the Biology exam went smoothly. I had a bad experience with another test provider and was worried about using someone new but A star were great from start to finish.
Absolutely and such great help from Joe David on the lectures! He really gives you a great understanding on what you need to do to pass without making it complicated, and by him just being generally brilliant! I got a Grade D in Secondary School but because of A Star I have passed at a Grade 7 which is the equivalent of an A!!! Thank you for everything!
The staff are quite friendly and polite over the telephone, they help book exam promptly and tried to verify the timeline when the result is needed. The support team, however let the organisation because they will make promises to support you and provide a feedback but this never happen. Obviously, this could be counter productive especially if you need to retake an exam. If you decided to reschedule the exam because you have not been able to get a feedback from previous examiner, then you will be charged administration fee that can vary from £40 to £79. Overall, it is a good service but it can be better.
The exam is so conformable
The exam team were amazing, they respond promptly to all queries and provide details.The fast track service is really helpful.I was in need of my certificate as soon as possible to enrol on a programme, this has saved me or else I would have missed my place.The recorded video courses are of great help and they are free.It actually helps you build better understanding what to expect in the exam and how to approach each question (definitely I would recommend to watch the full 8 lectures) as the tutor highlights VERY important tips.The online exam is easy to navigate through,It was my first time to do an online exam and I was a bit nervous, but it was actually easy as there was a box under each question to fill in your answer on the right side of the screen and the texts were on the left side of the screen.Overall experience was great and efficient service !

In regards to the science biology exam/course, I feel like it is really expensive. I failed 3 times and passed on the 4th. I paid nearly £1000 to pass this biology equivalency exam. However, a discount was applied but still felt like it was more expensive than other course providers. For example, BCU allow one free resit after each exam. I think this is something that should be considered, it’s already awful to fail without the extra price.
However, it is really easy to book an exam and dates are always available. My results were fast tracked and I got them back the next day and my certificate the same day thanks to Rosie. If I was to ever sit an exam again, I would definitely use A* again just because of the convenience and the lovely customer service advisors.

Very efficient customer service .. very well designed website .. the moment you go to the website to know about .. there is a real person on the chat window to give you all the needed information .. quick booking .. quick payment .. prompt emails before the exam and smooth exam process .. quick results if on fast track .. and all the information available pertaining to the test is in your account .. overall a very prompt and quick process .. From the beginning, A Star has been supportive in ensuring that I had everything I needed to pass my exams. Having someone on the end of the phone who is calm and collected really helps when things do not go to plan. This has been the most stressful summer I’ve ever endured in gaining qualifications in order for me to progress into teaching.
Materials and past papers really do help, and I would always advise anyone if you can afford it – get the whole course.

Booked my Maths exam online and received confirmation straight away. The day of the course I had several emails giving me updates of what I needed to do for the exam. The exam itself was really easy to access with the instructions from the invigilator and the submitting of work was very easy too. Great service.

A star Live chat service demonstrates a very effective service, I got prompt and precise response during the consultation stage. Had a wonderful experience with A Star Equivalency. From starting till the very end, I had all the support and guidance from the very friendly staff. Booking GCSE Equivalency Test with Fast Track is very easy and effective way to meet the eligibility needed for academic and professional career progression.
I was a bit nervous on the exam day as it was computer based and I was appearing for such a lengthy test after 9 years. But the invigilator was very polite and had positive approach which gave me confidence.
However one major and basic feature that should be added to the exam system is the highlighting feature which will save time and anxiety during the paper. Secondly, the issuance of paper certificate should be included within the equivalency test instead of charging it separately.
I’m happy to say that the “Fast Track” option is working correctly. In two days, I receive the exam result.

Brillant Service! Great communication throughout! I have opted for the maths course which has helped my maths knowledge massively! I didn’t pass the first time around as the nerves got the better of me! However second time around opted for the paper based exam as that’s just me found it a lot less stressful without having to worry about numbering questions and then scanning them on and I have passed! A bit cheeky asking to pay extra for the certificate that’s the only downside. Other than this! Thanks so much! I can now go on with my teacher training.

It’s very complex test mixing Paper 1 and Paper 2 questions. Time should be extended by one hour. 30 min for reading, planning, annotations etc and extra 30min for writing.
High achievers require more time to plan and write an outstanding story, article etc.
My feedback is 3h new extended time.

This is an excellent service which made my dream come true. The exam system was easy to understand and it made me comfortable during the exam time.
I undertook the English & Maths equivalency tests online, found the process very easy- from booking, to receiving up to date information. On the test day in itself, the invigilator ensured I was aware and comfortable before the exam started. I received the results and the e-certificate promptly. On the whole, I have been very satisfied with the services provided by A-Star equivalency, as they provided me with the necessary guidance promptly and accurately. The online exam also ran smoothly and straightforward with the invigilator explaining the procedure in detail. If the course material I purchased had also included model answers in addition to the indicators provided, I would have given 5 stars.
I would recommend A Star Equivalency to anyone who needs to get a grade C or above in a GCSE English Equivalency test.
The service from a star was very good and the staff were very helpful and efficient. I would recommend this service for anyone needing to gain a GCSE maths equivalency. The maths foundation exam is very challenging and completing a few past GCSE papers will not be sufficient revision.

Webinars – Sam was thorough, knowledgeable and really helpful.
Course notes, revision questions and exam papers, sadly do not reflect the exam difficulty. They were useful to help retrieve knowledge as a basic form. But the exam questions should reflect the level of difficulty, and the material did not.
Exam process – the questions go blank once completed. I found this awkward and not user friendly. Only when you click on the question will it reappear. Not helpful when you want to scroll and review answers either. I found drawing a line to another box not intuitive. It should say, click box and click the answer, as it is this process that draws the line. Instead I wasted time dragging the line from box to box, thinking that was what was required.
Exam content – only 12 questions broken in parts. This meant that of the vast material to learn, you’ll only be tested on a few areas, which I found made it harder.
I paid for the full course and I don’t think it was value for money.
I haven’t got my results, but I doubt I passed based on the difficulty of the exam in comparison to the course material provided. Such a shame as I was feeling positive after completing all the material. The actual exam definitely was a shock, sadly, and will be reflected in my results. I don’t have the money to resit and the process has left me demoralised after all my efforts, and the loss of a teacher training opportunity.

Overall I have had a great experience with a star equivalency for the English and biology gcse. The customer service on the phone was great and someone named Grace gave me free fast track when I brought the biology course. However in the biology exam there were two questions that did not appear in the course material but overall great experience. Thank you

I’m delighted to make my path through A Star Equinalency which I found supportive by it’s own unique design and the associated aporoval body such as ofqual. From the beginging, they were able to grab my attention by its easy and simple website designe which is quiet self-explanatory. Then, after my first mail, they gave me the entire solution promptly to my journey towards equivalency tests( English, Maths and Biology) including all the study material both online and offline. Next, the exam peocess was far more easier than my imagination and the invigilators were really helpful. Once I entered into the exam platform it didn’t bother me at all wherther it is online or offline. I feeled the real exam environment with the timer, invigilator and question paper.Besides, the submission process was simple like the physical one. One thing, I must mention, their live chat and reply of any email are super fast I liked it the most. I started this course mid-May, it is now mid-July and I have passed with flying colours (much to my shock and delight). The tutorials are fantastic, the course materials are easy to negotiate and the exam itself wasn’t as frightening as I expected. I’m spite of the fact I was asked every question I prayed not to be asked in the exam I passed and couldn’t be more pleased. Big thanks to astarequivalency, next step – teacher training!
