It was a great experience having done my exam with A Star. They were always asking if I had questions or needed help.On the day of the exam, the instructor was very kind and willing to answer my questions too. They were very punctual with the results and certificate. As an international student, I completely recommend it.
Earlier I was very much worried about my exam,but when invigilator Jessica started the exam my 50% fear faded away,her behaviour was so supportive,she was so nice I have no words to express my gratitude to her and A Star Equivalency ..they are ever ready to support,I would like to book the combined science test too…

The biology was fine as was the physics, i just struggled to get my head around the chemistry. The course workbooks did really help. I passed on the second go after I actually did some work. Make sure you revise which is obvious to say, but I thought my general knowledge of science would be enough, it wasn’t!

Staff is very helpful and revision material gave me good knowledge about the topics.
I found the whole process quite stressful having to do maths again, a subject I have never liked but pleased to say it is over now and all sorted.

Finally passed maths with a star equivalency and got a grade 5. Was terrible with maths all my life and needed a maths qualification for my university course (qualified teacher status) 100% Recommend very happy. Lots of helpful papers and resources to learn from and makes u prepare for the exam. I just booked my GCSE biology with A star through A star web page chat. The A star representor Mr. Josh helped me to book the course and with payment. Extremely useful maths course with everything you need. Stick to this and don’t waste time on other websites and the BBC stuff which is useless tbh.
I studied for about 6 weeks and spent longer on the Chemistry part as it has never made sense to me. Thankfully I passed first time. I did use the course and it was invaluable with lots of things similar coming up in the exam.
I did my gcse maths equivalency test in 3 months and put the effort in and passed witbh flying colours as they say 🙂
Absolutely and such great help from Joe David on the lectures! He really gives you a great understanding on what you need to do to pass without making it complicated, and by him just being generally brilliant! I got a Grade D in Secondary School but because of A Star I have passed at a Grade 7 which is the equivalent of an A!!! Thank you for everything!
The staff are quite friendly and polite over the telephone, they help book exam promptly and tried to verify the timeline when the result is needed. The support team, however let the organisation because they will make promises to support you and provide a feedback but this never happen. Obviously, this could be counter productive especially if you need to retake an exam. If you decided to reschedule the exam because you have not been able to get a feedback from previous examiner, then you will be charged administration fee that can vary from ÂŁ40 to ÂŁ79. Overall, it is a good service but it can be better.

In regards to the science biology exam/course, I feel like it is really expensive. I failed 3 times and passed on the 4th. I paid nearly £1000 to pass this biology equivalency exam. However, a discount was applied but still felt like it was more expensive than other course providers. For example, BCU allow one free resit after each exam. I think this is something that should be considered, it’s already awful to fail without the extra price.
However, it is really easy to book an exam and dates are always available. My results were fast tracked and I got them back the next day and my certificate the same day thanks to Rosie. If I was to ever sit an exam again, I would definitely use A* again just because of the convenience and the lovely customer service advisors.

The staff was absolutely amazing, helpful and very supportive and I cannot thank them enough for getting me through this very stressful period. I highly recommend A Star equivalency.

From the beginning, A Star has been supportive in ensuring that I had everything I needed to pass my exams. Having someone on the end of the phone who is calm and collected really helps when things do not go to plan. This has been the most stressful summer I’ve ever endured in gaining qualifications in order for me to progress into teaching.
Materials and past papers really do help, and I would always advise anyone if you can afford it – get the whole course.

Booked my Maths exam online and received confirmation straight away. The day of the course I had several emails giving me updates of what I needed to do for the exam. The exam itself was really easy to access with the instructions from the invigilator and the submitting of work was very easy too. Great service.

Brillant Service! Great communication throughout! I have opted for the maths course which has helped my maths knowledge massively! I didn’t pass the first time around as the nerves got the better of me! However second time around opted for the paper based exam as that’s just me found it a lot less stressful without having to worry about numbering questions and then scanning them on and I have passed! A bit cheeky asking to pay extra for the certificate that’s the only downside. Other than this! Thanks so much! I can now go on with my teacher training.

It’s very complex test mixing Paper 1 and Paper 2 questions. Time should be extended by one hour. 30 min for reading, planning, annotations etc and extra 30min for writing.
High achievers require more time to plan and write an outstanding story, article etc.
My feedback is 3h new extended time.

I recently had the pleasure of using the website “A Star Equivalency” to take the GCSE English test, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience. I was a bit skeptical about trying an online platform for a similar exam. However, my doubts were quickly put to rest.

The service from a star was very good and the staff were very helpful and efficient. I would recommend this service for anyone needing to gain a GCSE maths equivalency. The maths foundation exam is very challenging and completing a few past GCSE papers will not be sufficient revision.

Customer service – excellent.
Webinars – Sam was thorough, knowledgeable and really helpful.
Course notes, revision questions and exam papers, sadly do not reflect the exam difficulty. They were useful to help retrieve knowledge as a basic form. But the exam questions should reflect the level of difficulty, and the material did not.
Exam process – the questions go blank once completed. I found this awkward and not user friendly. Only when you click on the question will it reappear. Not helpful when you want to scroll and review answers either. I found drawing a line to another box not intuitive. It should say, click box and click the answer, as it is this process that draws the line. Instead I wasted time dragging the line from box to box, thinking that was what was required.
Exam content – only 12 questions broken in parts. This meant that of the vast material to learn, you’ll only be tested on a few areas, which I found made it harder.
I paid for the full course and I don’t think it was value for money.
I haven’t got my results, but I doubt I passed based on the difficulty of the exam in comparison to the course material provided. Such a shame as I was feeling positive after completing all the material. The actual exam definitely was a shock, sadly, and will be reflected in my results. I don’t have the money to resit and the process has left me demoralised after all my efforts, and the loss of a teacher training opportunity.
I had a great experience with A Star Equivalency for my English test. I enjoyed Good Meet platform for my exam as it was very straightforward. The staff was very helpful and polite. I could recommend many students who wish to take their gcses equivalency tests, to try A Star Equivalency.
