Absolutely love A Star. So professional and easy throughout the entire process of my anxiety fuelled maths journey. I had to sit my exam twice, but the support was exceptional. I didn’t purchase the course as I couldn’t afford it, but there were so many free revision materials, that it didn’t matter for me. The helpful feedback after my fail was key to my pass second time around. I hate maths with a passion and I needed a lot of support from A Star with my stress and I cannot thank them enough for how much they listened and offered kind words and speedy results. Loved the fast track option too. Thank you to each and every one of you that has helped me on my journey.

I booked my Math foundation exam with A Star . It was a simple and easy process. Then sitting in exam was also made so easy and convenient by A star team. The examiner was very cooperative and explained the exam procedure clearly and in detail.

I booked my exam eight weeks before the exam date. I have ordered the exam and the course work. Comparing with other providers accepted by my university, AStar had a competitive price. For me, as a foreign student, the most important was that the coursework was written in a simple, approachable language. The coursework was absolutely the key to passing the exam, so I advise to purchase it.
The examiner was very nice and friendly, talked to me in a friendly manner. I had few tachnical issues during my test, however the examiner quickly helped me to resolve them. Overall, I am very pleased with the services and the outcome. I have passed first time.

Maths has been my nemesis – My Achilles heel – my arch enemy; but thanks to A Star Equivalency I have been able to overcome my fear and failings, It took two attempts, but the ease of booking the exam, the free online resources, and ease at getting access to previous papers have made this journey smooth and straight forward. The friendliness of the staff and the speed of response to queries have been fantastic. I would (and have) highly recommend A Star to anyone who is interested in obtaining further qualifications. Age is no barrier. I would Like to thank all at A Star for a fantastic experience.

I was very pleased with the whole process. The staff were very helpful and responded very quickly to any questions I had. The exam itself was very straightforward, which I was concerned about due to not being particularly great with technology. The invigilator was very clear with his instructions and guided me through effortlessly. I would definitely recommend for anyone need to achieve a GCSE Maths equivalency test. I’m also relieved to have passed first attempt as it is quite pricey and wouldn’t have wanted to pay for a resit (perhaps that was the incentive to study hard).

I have taken GCSE ENGLISH equivalency test. The a star equivalency test team was very helpful. Always there to help on phone or live chat.The course material was sent within 24 hours. The course material was excellent. Its been an amazing experience , passed with a Grade 5. Everything went so smooth , exam invigilator explained so well and he was so polite. I have got my certificate in 2 days due to fast track result option. I would highly recommend a star.

Not happy about the English language online exam . There is not tools to highlight for active reading on the paper. This has direct consequence has it impede on the student performance in term of time management. When student are paying lot of money for the exam , they expect to be given the relevant tools to achieve success. The system is to me seem unfair and need to be amended.

Thank you for this feedback. This is something we do let students know before sitting the exam online. If highlighting is something you require, we would always suggest taking the paper-based exam. This seems like it would have been the best option in your case. You can find this in the main menu, under “paper-based exam”.
We are constantly working to improve our systems and this feedback will be passed on to our team to make improvements in the future.

A Star Equivalency
Maths has been something I have always had a problem with, despite having a degree and a masters it has been holding me back in pursuing a career in teaching. When I found out that you could now be accepted to a course with an equivalency certification I looked at many providers and a star was head and shoulders above the rest. I sadly failed my first attempt but the comprehensive feedback allowed me to focus on the areas I struggled most with and I passed second time! I paid for the fast track marking which I would highly recommend if you need marks quickly. Thank you.
I am overwhelmed by the support and communication provided by Astar. Especially Chris who was helpful and always had time to clarify all things. I struggled with the exam but I’ve learnt so much and have found a love for Biology I had lost previously.

The test was very well planned and a detailed result was generated. A Star have been a superb support and help.
A Star have been fantastic from start to finish. I opted to purchase the Biology course and exam option, and received my coursework bundle within 24 hours of initial enquiry. The coursework is great, and really prepares you for the exam. I studied for 7 weeks, and then sat the online exam; the process was so easy too, the invigilator was really friendly and everything ran really smoothly. Communication from A Star is great too, they always respond to questions really quickly. Another bonus of studying with A Star are the fortnightly webinar sessions – Science with Sam was an amazing study tool. I passed first time with A Star; initially looked at another provider but was disappointed with their course materials and poor communication. Thank you A Star!
Very well conducted exam, the examiner was very polite and explained the process and submission very clearly.
I had to complete the maths equivalency test to get onto my course and to be honest found the process to be straightforward, well planned and thorough. The invigilator is very reassuring and considerate. The overall experience with A star, has been exceptional. I hope I have passed my exam comfortably and I am currently awaiting my results, I wish it was quicker then 10 days but then again I have no idea how many tests need to be mark.
I have never liked maths and nearly fainted when my SCITT said I had to pass this to be able to progress. I have done the work and put in the time and it has finally worked out for me.
I love and appreciate the A star equivalency because they are star actually, they have excellent service which helped me to succeed from the first test I sit.

This is a great service. All of the equipment and revision pieces that they send you are in great detail and extremely helpful. If you revise hard enough you can do it. Great service thank you.
There is quite a bit of work to do if you haven’t studied science for a while like I haven’t. Having not touched a book for nearly 20 years I was extremely concerned I wouldn’t be able to prepare, but with course and tutorials I was ready in less than 5 weeks. Only just passed but that is all I needed so couldn’t care less!
The online exam is actually fine as long as you can type. I was a little worried about doing it at home and online but actually was a lot easier than travelling and all that.

I tried to contact the other equivalency testing company that I saw online but no response. Messaged A Star and got immediate reassurance that this was the right exam for my course. The support materials have been great. I didn’t have enough money to get the course but you don’t need it as long as you work hard using all the free stuff they give. a BRILLIANT SERVICE!
Using AStar has been so straight forward . I’ve been sign posted to great learning resources, staff have been incredibly helpful and friendly, the site is so easy to navigate. I never thought I’d say taking an exam was such a positive experience, but it really has been. Thank you for enabling me to make further strides in my learning journey.
I have never had any confidence in my maths ability but decided to face my fear and not let it hold me back anymore. With 6 weeks intense revision I managed to pass first time which I am still shocked at, I actually did it!!!!!!!!!

Hi all! I took my Maths earlier on the year and I recently took my Science – Biology. I recently left my job to dedicate my time to studying with A Star. Working full time and having children is do-able I just found that I needed to dedicate myself 100%! I studied for 4 months (Biology) so I’m praying I’ll pass as I paid for fast track – which I found to be amazing for providers that have a limit. I cannot express how supportive A Star are. The staff is great and I found the chat online to be so useful for quick responses! The course gives you all the information so I advice buying it. I know it’s pricy and even though I am down with income – the courses are everything you need to pass!! I recommend using A Star. Now I am ready to fulfil my dream of teacher training as I have a place in Early Years. All thanks to A Star! Good luck everyone, you’ll do great here!

I had not studied in England before and my qualifications didn’t translate into a GCSE apparently so I needed to do the English equivalency test. Thankfully I passed first time and can start my course in September.
