Free Functional Skills Diagnostic Assessment

Here at astarequivalency, we help all of our students no matter their age to get their GCSE or functional skills in both maths and English. Many learners come to us that have struggled to achieve a GCSE grade 4,in this case or if you are any adult learner we recommend you take a functional skills level 2 exam instead as there is much less content to remember. The functional skills exams are equivalent to a GCSE grade 4 which is widely accepted by

employers,apprenticeships and universities. Before you can complete one of these exams you must complete a functional skills diagnostic assessment which will determine which level of student you are(level 1 or 2). For the students studying from home for this qualification, we advise taking the level 2 exam.

The functional skills diagnostic tests for maths and English are free tests provided on the Pass Functional Skills website. This is the only provider that offers a free diagnostic tool. For employers,apprenticeships, and other educators, showing your current level and then the progress you have made is key. The level 2 diagnostic exam that we have provided  for maths and English is a more precise measurement of the current level you are working at which will show your improvement.
