Here at A Star Equivalency, we ensure all of our students are offered the best available resources. From quality 1-2-1 tuition to advising the best resources, we are always here for our learners. This week we are looking at the functional skills initial assessments that are available online. The diagnostic assessments( Initial assessments)  determine which level of functional skills you should apply to. After the initial evaluation, you will complete a pre-assessment to identify the course topics you need to focus on. If you want to enrol in college and need a level 2 qualification, you must first undergo a required initial assessment, which will be conducted under exam conditions. The outcome of this assessment will be used to determine the course you are placed on and the amount of government funding that is available.

The reformed functional skills maths initial assessment can be accessed through the page linked. These links allow you to register for these diagnostic tests for both maths and English. After you have completed the assessments we then advise you to take on the course materials. To give yourself the best chance at success with these exams you need to make sure you have the best resources available. The initial assessment is where it all begins, but it’s not where it ends. It will be time to finish the mock tests once you have completed the course and feel confident in your functional skills. If you score above 60% on the level 2 examinations, you should feel confident scheduling your final exam because the functional skills exams often have a fairly narrow range of pass marks.

At Astar Equivalency, if you have any problems or questions regarding functional skills then feel free to get in touch today. Our expert tutors can take scores to the next level while also giving the best advice that learners will take into the exam.
