COVID – 19 Exam Arrangements
At the request of some training providers we have further broadened the examination options to meet their needs through this difficult period.
Alternative arrangements such as online and embassy exams, are ONLY offered where you have evidence of your training provider’s approval for you to sit the examination this way. To maintain transparency with our training providers, the alternative option used is clearly recorded on the equivalency certificate with our standard unique security code for training provider’s reference.
Remember all certificate details, including security codes, can be checked with our compliance at any time.
More information on these options below.
FREE Multiple slots – when you book your date above we will email you offering multiple exams slots over a period of 2 weeks from the chosen exam day to find one that suits you. This free additional service is offered in addition to the others below to keep attendance numbers extremely low and keep you safe.
Equivalency Exams are operating daily under the “new normal” social distancing regime. We have exceeded government expectations with an alternative venue at Suite 210, The Business Design Centre, 52 Upper Street, Islington, N1 0QH (closest tube station Angel ) using thermal temperature detectors, individual isolation rooms along with the mandatory facemasks, hand sanitisers and social distancing.
In addition we continue to use high quality examinations benchmarked on AQA and Edexcel GCSE syllabuses administered under JCQ (Joint for Qualifications) regulations, by trained invigilators and marked by a team of independent markers who have/or currently mark for the exam boards.
We are ensuring the needs of all students are being met safely and well within the required time!
School Based Testing
This option is used by some candidates where the headteacher is prepared to commit to the school hosting while following our security procedures and JCQ examination protocol to ensure the security and integrity of the equivalency examination.
If you have a school prepared to support your exam please check for more details by viewing the “You Choose Where” Option.
Alternative Arrangements (require evidence of training provider approval)
At the request of some training providers through the COVID period we provide ONLINE EXAMINATIONS. Check with your training provider BEFORE BOOKING for approval to sit your examination ONLINE. These exams are the same as the standard scheduled equivalency exams. They are administered using technology specifically designed to ensure the highest security standards in remote testing. Examinees are closely monitored throughout the process and their Photo ID is verified (Photo Driver’s Licence or Passport).
To maintain transparency with our training providers the Equivalency Certificate awarded will state the Equivalency Test was administered online.
To do these exams you require a computer with camera, microphone, key board, browser with a stable internet connection and a phone with the ability to scan or photograph. No special hardware, software or training is required.
Embassy/ British Council based testing
We are working with embassies and the British Council for special cases where students are overseas and travel restrictions preclude their attendance to an Equivalency Examination in the UK.
Again these are ONLY offered where you have evidence of your training provider’s approval for you to sit the examination this way. To maintain transparency with our training providers, the alternative option used is clearly recorded on the equivalency certificate with our standard unique security code for training provider’s reference.
