COVID – 19 Exam Arrangements
I would like to thank Astar Equivalency for their exceptional service and support over the last few months. I had initially been advised by my ITT provider that they only accepted a particular (different) equivalency company. Unfortunately, I had several problems with the other company- from not picking up my phone calls, to claiming they hadn’t received my emails- despite the fact I still have records of my emails. I noticed that the university that I was studying through accepted Astar equivalency exams. I got in touch with the ITT provider and asked if they would consider Astar because I was having issues with the other company. To my surprise, they said that if the university accepts them, then so would they.
From the first email to the final phone call, Astar have been exceptional. I’ve rarely encountered such a fantastic team of staff. They really do support you and want you to pass. They will call and email you if they need any sort of confirmation. Despite the fact that this is a professional company, I never felt as though I was spoken to in a condescending or overly formal way. They also offer a fast-track service which makes things a little simpler for last-minute individuals like myself.
If your university or service provider do not currently accept Astar equivalency, I would strongly suggest you get in touch with them and ask them to consider. They’re a highly reputable company and many universities do accept their qualifications- and I can see why.
I’m surprised at how much more confident I am in my knowledge of science- particularly atoms, electrons and neutrons! Occasionally, my son has to tell me to stop going on about my new found knowledge! Would not have been able to do it without these wonderful people at Astar.
Thank you Dave, Tracey and the rest of the team. You’ve all been absolutely brilliant.

I wish I had come to you first. The last place said they were cheaper then added shipping fees and I then had to wait for exam to be posted.
You did what you said in the tin without hidden costs and made this easy for me.

I appreciated that all the necessary support material for my exam were easily and cheaply available online and I didn’t require any special course materials with extra costs.
With your help I was able to pass my exam without having to pay for a course on top of it all 🙂

I was already prepared to sit my Maths GCSE and booked the exam fast track in evening , sat the exam the next day, had my results the following day and had my certificate within a week. I am really pleased.
Thank you A Star!

I recommend A Star Equivalency !!
I looked at 3 companies and originally resat my English GCSE with a different company that claimed to be cheaper. It turned out their price was “before shipping* and was actually 2 pence less with ZERO support!
It was made worse the whole postage back and forth thing was time consuming and problematic. Also help with the exams was in the form of spending even more on their products.
A Star Equivalency was by far the better option and I wish I had come here first.

In addition we continue to use high quality examinations benchmarked on AQA and Edexcel GCSE syllabuses administered under JCQ (Joint for Qualifications) regulations, by trained invigilators and marked by a team of independent markers who have/or currently mark for the exam boards.
We are ensuring the needs of all students are being met safely and well within the required time!
School Based Equivalency Exam Testing
This option is used by some candidates where the headteacher is prepared to commit to the school hosting while following our security procedures and JCQ examination protocol to ensure the security and integrity of the equivalency examination.
If you have a school prepared to support your exam please check for more details by viewing the “You Choose Where” Option.
Embassy/ British Council based testing
We are working with embassies and the British Council for special cases where students are overseas and travel restrictions preclude their attendance to an Equivalency Examination in the UK.
Again these are ONLY offered where you have evidence of your training provider’s approval for you to sit the examination this way. To maintain transparency with our training providers, the alternative option used is clearly recorded on the equivalency certificate with our standard unique security code for training provider’s reference.

NB We also offer additional extra flexibility in GCSE Biology equivalency exam dates with the “You Choose When” option.
Who should sit this GCSE Biology equivalency exam?
You require a GCSE Science equivalency for entry into a higher education course that accepts GCSE equivalencies.
To assist you in satisfying this requirement we offer a GCSE Biology equivalency in addition to GCSE Combined Science equivalency. Be aware the GCSE Biology equivalency is a single science discipline and therefore requires a strong depth of knowledge and understanding. The GCSE Combined Science equivalency is spread more thinly across Biology, Chemistry and Physics and therefore it has a little less depth.
Consequently, the GCSE Biology equivalency exam best suits candidates with a reasonably strong of knowledge and understanding of Biology and candidates that have not studied Science for some time may find more success with the Combined Science equivalency.
